AUDREY JOHNSON

Audrey was born in Sheffield in 1937. Joined the Elmsdale Operatic Society at 18 and at 21 was accepted by the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and sang with them and the Halle Chorus for 6 years.

She moved to Egremont the 1964, joined the Operatic in September of that year and has been President, Secretary, Committee member, Principal and Chorus member. She now takes the role of Prompt or Assistant Director and is still very much involved with the Society as a Life Member and in 2005 she will receive her 40 year long service award from N.O.D.A.. Audrey's favourite show with the Society was 'The King and I' and her all time favourite is 'Sunset Boulevard'
